General receipt scanners are built for expense claims. They pull one total, one vendor and one date, file the image, and call it done.
That’s the wrong shape for reselling, where one receipt is fourteen things you now own, each needing its own cost, condition and return deadline. A receipt scanner for resellers has to go line by line, then split the shipping and tax across those lines so every item carries a cost you can subtract from a sale price later.

No receipt at all
Photograph the haul instead. Items come back named, quantities included.
What comes back
A review screen, not a saved file. Every detected item with its name, price and a suggested category, plus the source, date, tax, shipping and any discount. You fix what’s wrong, because there’s always something, and save the haul in one go.
From there the costs stop being a receipt total. Shipping and fees spread proportionally, tax applies to what was actually taxable, and return deadlines are set from the purchase date so the reminder arrives before the window shuts.
The original image stays on the haul. When something needs checking eleven months later, the receipt is on the item, not in a shoebox.
Scan early. Thermal receipts fade, sometimes within weeks and faster in a hot car. The scan that took ten seconds at the till becomes guesswork later.
